Passive House Certification Target - Passive House Classic
The client is committed to building a new certified Passive House.
This Parnell House is set in a private rear section of an inner Auckland heritage suburb. The sloping site is cradled by mature trees on 3 sides.
As you make your way down the driveway, a red signature Sang Door greets you.
Once inside the entry on the mid-level you discover there is more to the house than first appears. A large living space flanked with a wall of full height windows contains the lounge, dining and kitchen and deck, with elevated north views of the rear garden and leafy valley.
Downstairs there is a guest bedroom with their own lounge and direct access to the spa pool. Three more bedrooms including the master bedroom suite are on the top level.
The visual palette of the house takes its cues from the neighbouring heritage villas. With an off-white colouration and greys through the core finishes. Easy care tiles and timber flooring are chosen for the pets that live in the house. The result is a very natural, modern space producing a calming environment as the backdrop to the family’s colourful collection of art and furniture.
